Vinod Goyal, M.D. Vinod Goyal, M.D., is the Medical Director of C.H.A.T.T. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Goyal has been a consultant for developmental and behavioral pediatrics to several hospitals in the area, to Early Intervention Programs and to school systems. She is a member of numerous organizations that advocate for children with special needs, such as ORTON DYSLEXIA Society, COSAC, Center for Outreach and Services for the Autism Community and Child with Attention Deficit Disorder (CHADD). She is actively involved in teaching pediatric house staff and medical students and directs the program and curriculum for developmental pediatrics for all pediatric residents. Barbara Caspi, Ph.D. Barbara Caspi, Ph.D., Coordinator of the program, is a psychologist licensed in the State of New Jersey and a New Jersey Certified School Psychologist. After working with children with learning problems in the public school system, Dr. Caspi became intrigued with the opportunity to evaluate cognitive development at early ages and took the position with the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (N.I.C.U.) when the High Risk Follow-up Program was established in 1976. Dr. Caspi consulted to Early Intervention Programs, which offers team treatment to infants age zero to three and has also helped develop a program for emotionally and behaviorally disturbed preschoolers, the Therapeutic Learning Center at Children's Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. This is now also an after-school program. She contributed to curriculum development for preschoolers with emotional delays or problems and has mentored graduate student studies on infant and child emotional development. In CHATT, Dr. Caspi again enjoys working with a multi-disciplinary team to help children of all ages with complex developmental and behavioral needs. Alison S. Miller, OTR/L Alison S. Miller, OTR/L, Senior Pediatric Occupational Therapist, is licensed in the state of New Jersey and holds certifications in school occupational therapy and sensory integration evaluations as well as infant massage instruction. A graduate of Temple University, Alison has worked in a variety of settings since 1993, including N.I.C.U., early intervention, and school programs and outpatient treatment. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Child Development, specializing in infant multi-disciplinary studies. Alison is responsible for the development and formation of hospital-based occupational therapy services at Children's Hospital of New Jersey, as well as off-site services within the preschool disabled programs in the Newark Public School System. |
